DIY Layered Dress

I saw this dress and decided I had to have something similar, but in cotton and for much less. So, I took a trip to the thrift store and found a matching pillowcase and sheet in my favorite color combo. It was incredibly easy to make – I basically just sewed four, extra-long, gathered strips of fabric onto the pillowcase. Voila! Dress. I may make a quick tutorial, if I get enough requests for one. ♥

Favorite part about this dress? It’s upcycled, so I didn’t introduce new waste into the world! I still have another sheet and pillowcase, along with scraps from this, to create with. I’m thinking fabric flowers for Artist Child’s hair…oh, how I love creating fabric flowers.

Hope you had a great weekend!

  6. This dress was crazy easy. One day, we will meet, and I will show you how. :P I just picked a dress off of ModCloth and said ‘That’s cute. And easy. I’ll try it’ – practice makes perfect, lady! :P
