This month, I am participating in OctPoWriMo. ♥ That would be short for October Poetry Writing Month, and we are challenging ourselves to write 31 poems in 31 days. I may save them up and post a few at a time, but I wanted to start the challenge off right. I’ve never, ever shared my poetry, so this is a bit of a hurdle for me. But, it goes right along with my personal challenge for 2012, so here we go!
The lampyridae illuminate
The extinguished butts
and overgrown weeds
of our concrete Utopia -
created unexpectedly,
at the hand of fate
and our eager want
for a moment’s peace.
Elfin flashes glimmer
unsuspecting of our
unfaltering gaze -
Immersed in our temporary
mutual existence.
The interval separating
Our moments of sublimity
is agonizing, yet breathtaking -
quietly knowing
our inevitable return
to the glistening fireflies.

Wait, Shai– you were saying something about… well, this is lovely. The language is melodic, the words, carefully tended and placed….
It almost feels like a whisper.
I like when my mind is warped and twisted into figuring things out. Very nice! :)
I love it, and, being from firefly country, I felt a kinship….love love love! <3

This is very melodic. I love how the words work with each other.
So glad you are sharing your poetry!
I love this! You should share more often. <3
Much appreciation for your courage to share! Absolutely lovely!
